The 1st Joint Kentucky Militia is a joint venture with various militias from all over the entire state, not just one individual militia or militia command.

All participants have decided to come together to help each other. This site is not meant to be representative of one group is better than the others, or one group attempting to establish a dominance. It is, however, only to be used as a central hub or gathering point for us all to come together and create a way for people to be able to find and contact a group in their local areas.

How the 1st Joint Kentucky Militia is ran, operated and maintained is by a joint committee of all the commanders meeting and speaking semi regularly deciding jointly on their courses of action. No one person has supreme authority over the entire state. Every individual militia that wishes to participate in the 1st Joint Kentucky Militia is welcome to do so.

No outside force will attempt to dictate anything on how each individual militia is composed, divided, trained, organized, equipped, or staffed. The various commanders will offer up as much as help as requested, and will give their advice if asked for it. This is for us to build a better relationship with our brother and sisters in arms for our struggle for our Independence from the tyrannical forces that oppose us.

 

The Volunteer Militia exists by law under Amendment II of the United States Constitution, U.S.C. 10, Chapter. 13, Section 311 and under the Kentucky Constitution, Section 219.

A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." Amendment Two, of the U.S. Constitution.

      The Second Amendment recognizes that the Militia's existence and the security of the state ultimately rests in the people; those who volunteer to constitute the Militia and supply their own arms. Fundamentally, it is not the state that defends the people, but the people who defend the state. That is why the Citizen Militia and the citizens' private arms are not legitimate subjects for Federal legislation or regulation - they are Rights of the people that are to be protected and not be infringed. The National Guard is solely the creation of statutory law whereas the Citizen Militia existed before there was a nation or a constitutional form of government!

    Under the U.S. Constitution, the State governments are free to arm their Citizen Militia if they choose to do so. Otherwise, the arming of the Militia is the responsibility of the individual citizen. Article 1, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution does provide for States to organize and train their Militia, according to standards established by the Congress, and to appoint the Officers. If the State governments fail to do so, people not only have the Right but the duty to organize and train themselves locally, supplying their own arms. But just as each citizen has a duty to defend the community he also has the duty to effectively prepare himself for that role and join with others in his community to train and to function as an organized force; regardless if the elected officials of his community facilitate that organization and training or not.

                               Who We Are

     Written throughout this country's history, embedded within the very Constitution in which we proudly support, given to us under God, along as Americans, EVERY man, woman, and child is created equal regardless of race, creed, color, gender, or religious beliefs.

     As an "Unorganized" militia we will assist local and state government in times where manpower has been exhausted.  We stand against enemies both foreign and domestic.                 

             

 

     What is important to the militia is what is important to all Americans. We are concerned with the health of this nation. Militia members are a cross section of the American people. Many of us have been active in the political realm to voice our opinion to our elected leaders. Our voice has yet to be heard. We come from many backgrounds, not all being military. Everyone is welcomed, and encouraged, to join.
